We are a small, family run flower farm offering extraordinarily fresh, locally grown, seasonal flowers and foliage to the Rio Grande Valley since 2015.

WildAugust was officially founded in 2015 by Jimmy & Jennifer Wilson. Originally begun as Lucy’s Garden in 2005, the tiny retail nursery specialized in heirloom roses and locally native plants. In an attempt to garner attention for the roses, Jennifer began creating bouquets with them in 2013 and selling them at a local farmers’ market. Her hope was that customers would see the roses in the bouquets and want to grow them in their own yards and gardens… but that’s not what happened at all.

Requests for more of her unique bouquets began pouring in, and in 2014 Jimmy and Jennifer decided to cultivate a plot of land specifically for cut flowers. The experiment was successful beyond their expectations, and in 2015 WildAugust- named for the Wilsons’ oldest sons, August and Wilder- was reborn as an heirloom-rose nursery and cut-flower farm. One year later, Jennifer left her career as an elementary-school teacher to pursue WildAugust full-time.

Today Jimmy and Jennifer have just over half an acre of land in cut-flower production, including some of the original rose plants that started it all.

Although no longer a nursery, WildAugust’s operation now includes its own weekly flower- and farmer’s market, and Jennifer offers flowers for all occasions, from weddings and proms to birthdays, christenings, and sympathy work, all made with flowers and foliage grown right here at WildAugust.

What began as a dream has quite literally blossomed into a beautiful and thriving operation, and the Wilsons hope to continue to share the beauty of God’s creation through the flowers and gardens of WildAugust.
